1st Bulletin

25 March 2008

The 34th International Conference on High Energy Physics (ICHEP 2008) will take place from 30 July 2008 to 5 August 2008 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on the beautiful campus of the University of Pennsylvania (http://www.upenn.edu ).  The conference is co-sponsored by Princeton University and the University of Pennsylvania. The conference consists of three days of parallel sessions (including a poster session), a free day, and three days of plenary talks.

With the anticipated turn-on of the Large Hadron Collider, we expect a very exciting scientific program. The conference will cover the latest experimental and theoretical results in physics at the energy frontier, flavor physics, neutrino physics, detector technologies, formal theory, heavy ion physics and particle astrophysics and cosmology. Social activities include the conference check-in on the evening of July 29th, a reception at the University Museum, a concert, a banquet at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and a public lecture.

Details about the conference may be found on the conference web site: http://ichep08.com

Participation is by invitation only. Student supplements in the form of a waived registration fee will be available for a limited number of students (see application link on the conference home page).  Important dates and deadlines include:

 o  1 April 2008: registration opens.
