ICHEP08 begins next week and we are writing to provide some answers to The conference takes place in the Perelman Quadrangle at the University of Pennsylvania, in Houston Hall, Cohen Hall, and Irvine Auditorium. (2) Getting to Penn There is a link on the ICHEP08 web page labeled "Transportation to ICHEP" on the right-hand side. The direct link is http://ichep08.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=62&Itemid=119 (3) Check-in and registration in person You will be receiving a laptop bag, some printed information, a 1 GB USB stick and a name badge when you check in. If you have not paid for registration you must do so on arrival. Schedule: Tue. 29 July 5pm -9pm: Class of 49 room on the 2nd floor of Houston Hall (refreshments will be provided) Wed. 30 July 7:30am to 5pm: Reading Room in the Ground floor of Houston Hall Thu. 31 July to Tuesday 5 August: 8am to 5pm in the Reading room. n.b., Saturday 2 August it will be possible to pick up registration materials, but it will not be possible to pay if you have not already registered. The hours for check-in on Saturday are tentatively set from noon to 5pm. (4) Network access at the conference There will be wireless available in Houston Hall and Cohen Hall (but not in Irvine Auditorium, the venue for the plenary talks). You will receive information about how to connect to the wireless network in your registration packet that you will receive at check-in. Access to the network will be similar to access at airports: you will be provided with a user name and password. In addition to the wireless network, a limited number of PCs with internet connections will be provided in the Ben Franklin room of Houston Hall. These PCs will be connected to a printer. (5) Guest program Information on activities for accompanying persons is available on the ICHEP web page under "Guest Program." This message requested that you send the following information: (a) your name, (b) the accompanying person(s) name(s) and ages, (c) any additional requests. We will use this information to print badges for accompanying persons.
